WHAT SHE KNEW

The novel, what she knew by, Gilly Macmillan

It’s a book that gave me chills and made me cry.

A mother and her young 8 year old child goes on a daily walk through the woods with their small dog that her son got for Christmas. That Christmas was one of the worst for everyone because her husband at the time walked out on them and is now married to a younger beautiful women. With hatred in her heart. Her mind becomes cloudy and she doesn’t realized how hard her son has been taking it but someone has and now thinks she’s a bad mother. While her son convince her to let him run ahead. She makes a phone call to kill time. By the time she arrives to the swing her son is not there. At first she thinks its a game but after a while she is seen screaming for help, calling her son name BEN!!! From the beginning she is called a bad mother for letting her son run ahead. As detectives dont get any closer everyone becomes a suspect. Including Rachel (Mother) sister. With press coming unnoticeable, days seem longer and with everyday that goes by her son is still not closer to becoming found. Who has him? and why? It was under my nose and I cant believe I didn’t even notice it. Its the very end that has you glued. Its like you can almost taste the answer who wanted to know from the beginning… WHERE IS BEN? Its that moment everyone has their suspicion, The mom, the cops. Its that moment no one saw or could believe it was……..

AMBER ALERT

Amber Alert-Dan Lawton

Through- out  the book I had chills!! At first I thought I was cold. Constantly turning off the fan and then realizing I was now  hot, making me get back up to turn it on again and again.

Abby Janis is a young women in her thirties who has it all. A rich husband name Kurt, A big beautiful house and,  a beautiful daughter Chole who just finished third grade. In Abby eyes her life is perfect.

One day Abby checks the mail on their way out when she noticed a unstamped letter that Said’s her name clear on the front but its what’s inside that gives her chills that run up and down her spine. “FOUND YOU” was all it said and she knew then that her perfect life was going to crumble down. That same day chole goes missing right in front of her father. Although detectives Hank and Melanie the main detectives on the case don’t think the little girl was abducted, the mother knows other wise and suspicion makes her the main suspect. While detectives are pushed to find the little girl from the major himself.  Abby has another plan in mind and now she not only risk killing her daughter but killing her unborn child that she hasn’t told her husband yet. The book goes on and on with who they suspected took chole and why but from the very beginning I knew Abby had something to do with it and to not mess up her perfect life. she chose to keep her demons in her closet. The book blew my mind as it goes from one character to another. Each having a role in the mother’s past. At the end, I realized what I thought I knew about Abby wasn’t the case at all. As they started to unfold every secret. That’s when you realized nothing was what I seemed. Everyone was a bad guy for one reason or another.

WHEN GOD MADE LIGHT

Here’s another amazing book but this is not out typical adult book.
When god made light by Matthew Paul turner, it’s a beautiful book about the creation of light and night. It’s a great children’s book. In our family we teach our children a lot about god and the magic behind it. Even if your not a believer, the story its self is not a normal bible story for children. I couldn’t really explain it. you just have to read it yourself. So I was so happy to get this book but I wasn’t the only one happy my two year old loves books was also every amazed of the detailed pictures and how they stand out. The picture quality it’s a great eye catcher. It will get the attention of any young child eyes. The great vibrant colors that I wouldn’t mind reading over and over again. Even the front cover is a colorful picture that draws you in.

GOSPEL CENTERED MOM

I got the chance to read an incredible book. It’s amazing when an author allows you to read her most variable thoughts by reading her book. The book is called Gospel-Centered Mom ( The Freeing Truth About What Your Kids Really Need)By, KAREN EHMAN. It’s an amazing book, its time to stop trying to be the perfect mom. A very pretty cover, very clean color and design. The book really gets to you with one and one on questions and quotes from the bible. Each chapter She gives one on one personal experiences, quotes from the Bible, questions for you to answer and at the end of each question there is a hard truth response and beautiful truth response that she tells depending on what the chapter was about depends on what she will write. It really is a good book even if you are not Christian. The contents make it easy to understand and prepare you for what you’re about to read at the end of the book their discussion questions and notes which I found very helpful. With something different, the first two pages of the book have people reviews of the book. Which really made me want to actually read it. There were all positive. I give this book a 5 star. I recommend people to read it.

DUNBAR

Dunbar by EDWARD ST. AUBYN
The book is full of betrayed, loved, torture, sex, friendship and more…
I found this book to be a 5-star book. Its one of those books that once you start reading it you cant put it down. IT starts off with an old man confused and seems to just be getting old but the more you read the more you find out. He has 3 children, two which’s are trying to stealing Henry company and everything he worked for. As the old man goes on a trip with a man who he met in an old people home that his evil daughters put him in. He soon becomes friends with a man from the retirement home. The two plot a plan and now are on a adventure to try  to save his company and has a deadline before the two evil sisters remove him from the company that he spends his life building. The third \, which you find out she is nothing like the others  was removed from the company and the will and disowned but even after it all she still tries to find her father and help him. Its touching book The ending is amazing. In some way this book reminds me of the three evil step sister’ s.

CONVICTED

I received a book that completely exploded my mind. Convicted by Jameel McGee and Andrew Collins with Mark Tabb. It’s a 5-star book for me personally. They are telling their personal story. Something slot of people can relate to. Jameel and Andrew are two men that you would never believe they would come together to be good friends and make a book.
It’s about a cop who wants to be the best of the best, an innocent man that was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Jameel is a black man who asked for a ride to the corner store after finding out he was about to met his baby son for the first time. when Andrew was a good cop who became a crooked cop. He believes he is doing the right thing by lying not only to the jury’s and attires but to his own self., stretching the lies to a extinct. This book is full of emotions. A man goes to jail for drugs that wasn’t his and gets sentences for 10 years but does 3 because the cop who puts him there gets caught red handed in his lies. these two go on a long road of forgiving but not forgetting. Each chapter you get one on one with Jameel or Andrew. These two become best of friends at the end of the story. It really is a great book. The chapters are not long and each chapter title likely tell you what the chapter is about and what your about to read. the front cover is a catchy looking that brings you to want to read it. I enjoyed this book it tells the story of these two and the friendship that god created. This book is a religious book. Talks a lot about god and even tells you quotes in the bible. I give this book 5 stars and recommend people to read it.

THE ROANOKE GIRLS

The Roanoke girls by Amy Engel is a novel I became obsessed about.

This book was one to remember…
The beginning could have been a lot better I was sorry to say but it didn’t catch my eye but, once I started to get by each chapter the more into the story I found it overwhelming it was such a good book. This girl name Jane who mother committed suicide ( don’t worry you find out why almost towards the end of the book) but… she ends up moving in with her grandpa a man that is amazingly handsome and good heart well at least that’s what it seems soon Jane runs away because she finds out the truth about her mom and who her grandpa who he really is. she can’t bare it also she seems to be carrying a secret of her own that no one knows so, the future is brighter she runs far away never to return in tell she gets a call that her cousin has gone missing and Jane is forced to come back to the one place she never wanted to come back to only to find that things have gotten worst and someone holds the key to the answer she needs what happen to her cousin. She feels responsible to know what happens since she did leave her behind after finding out the Roanoke girls secret. The ending is heartbreaking. There was just secret after secret and it just felt as a so real as if I was sitting on my couch watching this book on my tv. It’s a 5-star book and I recommend everyone to read it.

HOW RACE ENSLAVED THE AMERICAN SOUL

I got the opportunity to read an amazing book.
Eddie S. Glaude JR. Democracy in Black How Race Still Enslaves The American Soul.
I want to start by describing
the book its self, it’s an incredibly soft book. Has a soft sandy feeling to it a good texture for this book. Its written on off-white pages. A very unique book. I love how it includes an index and a suggested reading. The index is a very good idea not a lot of books have it and for people like me, if I read a word I don’t know the meaning of I have to stop reading to look it up. Which takes time pulling out my laptop or phone, logging in then googling the word. What a pain in my *** So as I was saying I give my thanks to the author for thinking and then include it. It also includes a page front and back of acknowledgments. Which is a very good reading. Very good thinking about it. After just reading the first chapter I was very understanding and could understand his points. I wanted more!!! It’s that good. It’s a new open point to how race works now in the new century. In this timeline in life. The way we look at are the self is not how we use to look at each other now racism is a big problem yet so many people hide the truth and actually don’t want to see it but hiding things doesn’t make them go away. It will actually make it worst and that’s exactly what this book talk and brings to mind. The chapters are not long maybe 7 or 10 pages within a chapter but the pages have a lot of small writing in them. So making it seem more but actually not. There is 9 chapter plus a conclusion and an introduction. I gave this book a 5 on Goodreads. It’s not a long book at all I had a day and a half and finished the book in that time.
